Enrolment isn’t some you do just once. Keep your details up to date to make voting easy.
Voting starts 26 October, and closes at 7pm on election day, Saturday 7 November.

You’re eligible to enrol and vote if you:
- are 18 years or older
- a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, and
- you’ve lived in New Zealand continuously for 12 months or more at some time in your life.
It’s easy to enrol or update your address details. You can do it online at vote.nz, call freephone 0800 36 76 56 or free text your name and address to 3676 to have an enrolment form sent to you.

Vote in this year’s general election to make your voice heard on the issues that matter to you.
You can vote from Monday 26 October until 7pm on election day, Saturday 7 November.
You need to be enrolled by midnight, Sunday 25 October. You won't be able to enrol once voting starts.
In a general election, you get two votes. Your party vote is for the political party you want to be in government. Your electorate vote is for the person you want to represent your local area.
You can vote at any voting place in the country, but you may need to fill out an extra form if you vote outside your electorate.
